I Hate The War
I Hate The War Barbara Starr. She sounds like a comic book character, some descendant of Dale Messick's comic strip Brenda Starr. If only she was as dedicated to her trade as the fictional Brenda Starr. Starr's paid for CNN but anyone who knows her body of work would be right in countering that she actually works for the US military brass. If there's a message to be put out, Starr's the go-to. She will report it without questioning it -- on air or in text. The attempt to retake Mosul from the Islamic State was supposed to start next month. Despite the White House spending over one billion dollars since the start of August on their Iraq 'plan,' the Iraqi military is still not ready. Some would argue it would never be ready and point to the five years of training that led up to Nouri's attack on Basra -- and Sadr City in Baghdad -- in 2008 which saw massive desertion on the part of the Iraqi military (understandable in... Ego Suicide
Part 14
As time passes I'm feeling the urge to write here less and less. I think the time of vast introspection on this blog might be coming to a close. It's been around since I was 15 so I guess it was going to happen that one day I'd feel like I needed to move on. Writing has become a different thing for me. Way back when I started this blog I remember I would skip my classes in high school not to drink or smoke cigarettes/pot but to sit in the courtyard and write in my notebook. I still have a lot of those stories/poems/essays/drawings, I was looking through them yesterday. Some of it is not too bad but most of it is garbage. I try to remember what I was feeling at the time because all of it has an air of subversiveness, which is a way of doing things that I've been developing over the last 10 years it seems. That recognition now made everything a lot clearly as to why I never really made an effort in school, it was because they were my advisory. I refused to fit into what they wanted me... (more)

Dark of the Moon
This Week in Randomness
I'm OBSESSED with The Pretty Reckless now! Going to Hell is AMAZING. We're talking Hole circa Live Through This with a lil Alice in Chains. TAYLOR MOMSEN 4 LYFEI sold my Fleetwood Mac ticket! I'm slightly disappointed I won't be catching them but I never should have bought the ticket in the first place. $200, whoo! ($27 less than what I paid, but moving on...) Still have access to ancient history email account - WE'RE TALKING LIKE THE FIRST EMAIL I PROBABLY EVER HAD - even though I haven't been with the ISP in forever. Shhh...Reading through your old emails feels almost wrong, because the person you were back then is totally foreign to you now and it's like snooping on a stranger. US Weekly and La Château emails??! Who were you???Cat Marnell, who is another obession of mine, has blown through her reportedly $500k book advance. I'm pretty sure I could stretch half a mil to at least 10 years. And I ain't even exaggerating Speaking of which, I think I may to the UNTHINKABLE and switch... (more)

Los Angeles Housing Rental Scams: Do not Become a Victim
With home prices high in Los Angeles, renters are finding it challenging to find a good rental, the right rental and now, one that isn’t a simple scam. The search for housing can be tedious and frustrating. In addition to the hundreds of available properties, one has to also be aware of fraudulent “landlords” whose sole purpose is to scam and steal. These “sellers” claim that they are unavailable to show the house and that they will mail the keys once they have received a deposit. However, once they receive the payment, they disappear and leave the prospective tenant empty handed. There are many possibilities for various scams. For example, an owner with a foreclosed house may put up their property for rent and pretend that the house is in good standing. As soon as the tenant is all moved in, they will disappear with the money. Weeks or months later, the new houseguests are without a home and money when they find out that their new residency is foreclosed. Other... (more)

What a day!
After a really rough morning, I was exhausted by noon and slept for three hours!I just was so frustrated, because I couldn't get anyone but the Paramus police to take me seriously.I've all but given up on Patty. Right now, she's out with a friend, dressed like a "lady of the night." I can't take the perfume she bathes in any longer. While I was sitting in my living room reading today's Record, I saw a car go very slowly past my house. Then, whoever it was stopped for a brief moment RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE! I couldn't get on Facebok to notify the police, because someone hacked into my account AND my email. So, I waited an hour. In the meantime, I got my new digital camera and opened the front blinds all the way up.Then I made a sign that said 'Never mind the dog (and we do have one) --Beware of the OWNER! And he doesn't even have a gun!" I put the sign on the front door. Then I called the Paramus police on their non-emergency line. I had to take out my hering aid because I can hear... (more)
